It’s been basically a month since Hogville.net and Pig Trail Nation released its Top 6 recruits in Arkansas in 2020.
Here’s an updated look at the six and then a few notes about some recruits who are maybe closing in on Power 5 offers. The Top 6 are in alphabetical order.
Jacolby Criswell, QB, 6-1, 208, Morrilton — Despite missing some of his junior season due to injuries, Criswell completed 89 of 157 passes for 1,350 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. He rushed 72 times for 392 yards and four touchdowns. Criswell was offered by Arkansas on June 14. He also holds offers from Colorado, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, NC State, Memphis, Arkansas State, South Alabama, UCA and Seton Hill. A dual threat quarterback.
Chris Harris, ATH, 5-11, 180, Dumas — He doesn’t hold any offers yet, but that could be changing very soon. Harris, who is a great one on the hardcourt as well, will be at Arkansas on March 9 for its big Prospect Day. Don’t be surprised if the Hogs offer him that day. As a junior, Harris rushed 191 times for 1,539 yards and 21 touchdowns. He completed 133 of 208 passes for 1,807 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He returned seven kickoffs for 116 yards and on defense had 18 tackles and three pass breakups. He could play on either side of the ball in college.
Chris Hightower, WR, 6-2, 185, Little Rock Christian — He was at Arkansas this past weekend for a Prospect Day. Holds offers from Tulane, Liberty, Kansas and Memphis. Helped team to a state championship this past season. As a junior, caught 58 passes for 986 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Jashaud Stewart, DE, 6-2, 216, Jonesboro — Don’t let his size fool you, this kid is a big-time player. He is a nightmare for quarterbacks facing him. As a junior, Stewart had 98 tackles, 71 unassisted, 26 tackles for loss, seven sacks, 13 quarterback hurries, one interception, three forced fumbles and four recovered ones. He was offered by Arkansas on Nov. 30. He also holds offers from Arkansas State, Liberty, Houston, Lousiana-Monroe, Troy and SMU.
Blayne Toll, ATH, 6-4, 235, Hazen — The hottest recruit in Arkansas and one of the fastest risers nationally. He was offered by Arkansas on Jan. 21. He also holds offers from Ole Miss, Tennessee, Houston, LSU, Kansas, Central Michigan, TCU, Arkansas State, Louisville, Texas State, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss, Rutgers, Memphis and Carroll College. He is expected to be a tight end or defensive end in college. He plays quarterback and defensive end at Hazen.
Catrell Wallace, OLB, 6-6, 215, Bryant — Has the size to be an outside linebacker or grow into defensive end in college. Either way, a big-time recruit. He helped lead Bryant to a Class 7A state title this past season. Arkansas offered on Oct. 27. He also has offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Virginia and Arkansas State. As a junior, he had 79 tackles, two sacks and three blocked kicks. A very talented player.
