Countdown to First Pitch: Hogs Seek 11th Win in Their Last 12 SEC Games

Sports

Fayetteville, AR-

The Hogs turn the page after a beatdown at Baum-Walker Stadium Thursday Night.

Arkansas smacked five home runs, put away LSU 14-4, and one of the dingers came from Jack Kenley, a grand slam in the 4th.  As for Kenley’s approach:

“Anyone will tell you that baseball is just a crazy sport, so, we could have a blowout win today, or a nailbiter, and tomorrow it may be the exact opposite.  So, getting that first one under our belt,
getting the wiggles out for an opening game of a series is big,” Jack Kenley said.

The Razorbacks, well aware how much series is left.  Arkansas last won a series over LSU in 2011.

Eric Walker, who only allowed one run on five hits in the 2017 SEC Tournament Final against the Hogs, takes the mound tonight.  Walker won that game in ’17 in Hoover throwing 7 2/3 Innings.  Walker also tossed a complete game in the ’17 regular season in Fayetteville winning 2-0 over the Hogs.

Game time tonight for game two of the series, 6:30 on SEC Network+ at Baum-Walker Stadium.  For Arkansas, Patrick Wicklander is on the bump.  Wicklander is 5-1.  He looks to pitch Arkansas to its 4th consecutive SEC Series win.
