Arkansas gave up ten runs to Ole Miss in the series finale Sunday and seventeen Tuesday facing Little Rock. Now the Diamond Hogs have a quick turnaround for a three-game series Thursday through Saturday at Auburn.
“(Against Little Rock) We pitched behind in the count all night. A lot of 2-0 counts, 3-1 counts, and they took advantage of it,” Dave Van Horn said.
The Razorbacks’ Head Coach is searching for answers in a week when Jacob Kostyshock battles inflammation in his ulnar nerve, out for likely two weeks.
“You have one of our top pitchers injured right now. It’s, you know, shifted some innings to some other guys. Somebody has to pick it up. You know our three starters, they have done a pretty good job for us. It’s a lot of these new guys. Young guys that you hope that there is two or three of them that can really excel a little bit out of the bullpen, or take a role, or be a Tuesday starter. We haven’t found that guy and that has been a little disappointing,” Van Horn added.
Arkansas Ace Isaiah Campbell takes the mound Thursday. First pitch 6:30 p.m. from Plainsman Park on ESPNU.
Both teams are 22-7.
