DVH Starting Wicklander On the Bump: Historic Matchup Facing Little Rock

Fayetteville, AR-

Lefty Freshman Patrick Wicklander has been a mid-week ‘go-to’ for Dave Van Horn, and the southpaw gets the ball when the Hogs face Little Rock in the first regular season meeting between the two schools.

Wicklander, tied for second on the team with eleven appearances this season, is 2-1 with thirty-seven strikeouts. He’s also allowed fourteen earned runs and did not have a good outing Sunday against Ole Miss.

“We will kind of see how the game is going. I just feel like the kid, he needs to pitch. He has given a couple of innings here and there. We keep pulling him out and saving him for the weekend. We don’t use him a whole lot on the weekend. You know if he is throwing good, maybe we just let him go,” Van Horn said.

The Hogs enter this game with a record of 22-6. The Trojans are 10-18.

Game time is 6:30 from Baum-Walker Stadium.
