North Little Rock Class of 2020 offensive tackle Erin Smith was at Arkansas’ Prospect Day on Saturday.
Smith, 6-5, 281, talked about the visit and what he likes about the Razorbacks.
“It was nice,” Smith said. “I was impressed by the facilities. They were second to none and the coaching staff was real welcome.”
Smith holds offers to Louisiana-Monroe and Tulane. Smith talked about what he’s looking for in a college.
“A place to call home,” Smith said. “Somewhere my family can be close to see my games. A place to call home and a good school.”
Smith helped North Little Rock to a 12-1 record in 2018. They were undefeated until losing to Bryant in the Class 7A state championship game. It was still a very good season for Smith and his teammates. Smith talked about his strengths on the field.
“I’m real explosive kinda quick,” Smith said. “I’ve got good feet for my size. I can move.”
Smith and North Little Rock beat some impressive out-of-state teams in 2018. They downed Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington 29-28 on Aug. 25 to open the season. They downed Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian 35-20 on Sept. 7 and then beat Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven 46-35 the following week.
