LITTLE ROCK — 2020 Arkansas recruit Chanse Robinson (6-0 combo guard, Lincoln Prep in Grambling, LA, Louisiana Elite on the Under Armour circuit, composite national No. 155 / 4-star prospect) said he will take an unofficial visit to Arkansas on Saturday, Feb. 23, when the Razorbacks host Texas A&M at Bud Walton Arena.
“I really like (the Hogs), that’s why I’m going down there to check the campus out,” Robinson said. “They haven’t see me play (in a game) this year, but they came to my practice and stayed and watched me practice and things early in the season.”
Robinson is hoping for an Arkansas offer during his visit.
“I hope so, and they’re up there on my list,” he said. “I really haven’t narrowed my list down, but they’ll be in my Top 10 and Top 5, just waiting on them to offer me.”
Robinson said his lead recuiter is Arkansas assistant coach and Louisiana native Scotty Thurman.
“Coach Scotty Thurman, he’s a good man and I have respect for him because he started recruiting me my junior year,” Robinson said. “And all AAU season, my head coach told me he’s a legend in our area. Him and my coach have a good relationship and he talks to me a lot.”
Robinson holds offers from Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Iowa, Ole Miss, Seton Hall, TCU, Houston, Wichita State, and Louisiana Tech with Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Texas A&M, and others showing interest. Robinson said he’s already taken a visit to Wichita State with upcoming visits planned to Ole Miss (Feb. 2), Louisiana-Lafayette (official visit, Feb. 16), Arkansas (Feb. 23), and Texas A&M (date to be determined).
Robinson averages 23.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 4.0 steals for 17-8 Lincoln Prep.
“Very aggressive guard that hates to lose,” Robinson said when asked to describe himself as a player. “People call me Baby Westbrook, but that’s who I try to model my game after. I’m very athletic. I can finish at the rim, I have a good mid-range game and jumper, still working on being consistent with my 3-ball. I’m very quick and explosive, and can finish through contact.”
