Arkansas has landed Jonesboro 2020 defensive end-outside linebacker Jashaud Stewart.
Stewart, 6-2, 226, committed to the Razorbacks while at Arkansas’ Prospect Day on Saturday.
“I felt that it was best for me and my family,” Stewart said. “Staying close to home was big deal so my family and friends could see me play. Also I like the coaching staff and the fan base is amazing.”
As a junior, Stewart had 98 tackles, 71 solo, 26 for loss, seven sacks, 13 quarterback hurries, one interception, three forced fumbles and four recovered ones.
He chose the Hogs over offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Houston, SMU, Kansas, Liberty, Troy and Louisiana-Monroe. Arkansas offered him on Nov. 30.
Blessed to say that I will be verbally committing to the University of Arkansas. I will like to thank everybody who help me get to this point especially my hard working parents 🐗 #WPS pic.twitter.com/Qh1122Qsjk— Jashaud Stewart (@JashaudStewart) March 10, 2019
He is the third commitment for Arkansas in 2020. The others are Alpharetta (Ga.) Denmark wide receiver Ze’Vian Capers and New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr cornerback Jamie “Greedy” Vance.
