Warren defensive lineman Marcus Miller signed with Arkansas on Dec. 19.
He was among the seven official visitors this weekend. Following the visit, he talked about it.
“It was a fun visit,” Miller said. “Did a lot of fun things. Got to hang around a lot of fun people. Catfish Hole was good. I’m just ready to be here.”
What was some of the fun things you did on your visit?
“I hung with Mike Woods and we just played the game and stuff,” Miller said. “Me and Treylon (Burks) were already up here so we got together with them.”
Burks is going through his rehab for a knee injured suffered during the season. You went through that too what have you told him?
“Just keep working hard,” Miller said. “That’s what I did and it paid off.”
Miller was one of seven defensive linemen the Hogs signed on Dec. 19. Have they talked to you about the possibility of playing early?
“Yes sir, they have talked to me a little bit and told me be ready to come in and play early,” Miller said.
Miller is now 6-foot-5, 310-pounds. He plays basketball in addition to football for the Lumberjacks. As a senior on the football field, Miller had 52 tackles, seven for loss, two sacks, four quarterback hurries and a recovered fumble.
He talked about what he feels are his strength and weaknesses as well.
“I am working on getting to the quarterback and I’m good at stopping the run,” Miller said.
How is your relationship with the coaching staff now that you’ve got to spend a lot more time with them?
“It’s real good,” Miller said. “Me and Coach (Justin) Stepp and Coach (Joe) Craddock always talk a lot. Coach (Steve) Caldwell we talk a lot.”
Miller chose Arkansas over Missouri, Tennessee and others.
