After two weeks of negative attention, the Arkansas basketball team is trying to regroup after losing three of its players to legal matters.

Enter, Lorenzo “Doobie” Jenkins a six-foot-seven-inch, 215-pound small forward from First Baptist Academy in Naples, Florida. Jenkins is classified as a 2015 prospect and could in theory join the Razorbacks before the 2015-2016 season starts in late October.

Jenkins holds seven offers, now including Arkansas. He is rated as a three-star recruit by online recruiting services. Other schools that have offered Jenkins include The Citadel, Richmond and Kennesaw State. Fans will remember that Arkansas and Kennesaw State have already been mentioned in the same breath this summer. The Hogs acquired former Owl center Willy Kouassi, and it appears that Kouassi will play a large part in the upcoming Razorback campaign.

With the quantity of players being small now, the Razorbacks would love to add the late signing of Jenkins. Jenkins has the ability to shoot mid-to-long range shots and can go inside the painted area and work his way to high percentage baskets. Jenkins jump shot is reminiscent of former Hog and now Oklahoma City Thunder player, Michael Qualls, getting a lot of elevation from the floor on each shot.

Jenkins is officially visiting the Hogs on Friday, but there is no indication that Jenkins will commit during his visit. If Jenkins were to commit, he would be the tenth player on the active roster for the Razorbacks.

Razorback assistant coach T.J. Cleveland is Jenkins lead recruiter.
