“It was time.” That was Norm DeBriyn’s explanation for his retirement from the University of Arkansas after 33 years as head baseball coach and 15 more years with the Razorback Foundation.
In this sit down interview DeBriyn reflects back on his early years of trying to rebuild a baseball program that was not a member of a major conference and without an on campus facility to play in.
He also explains the development of the program after the construction of George Cole Field and how he managed to raise the money for Baum Stadium after Arkansas entered the SEC in 1992.
