Arkansas’ first summer camp is for specialists and several of the best in the region are in Fayetteville.
The camp is for kickers, punters and long snappers. Several prospects made a strong impression during the first half of the camp on Sunday.
Among the 2021 kickers and punters are Lexington (Tenn.) High School’s Connor Wood, Flower Mound (Texas) High School’s Bert Auburn and Andover (Kan.) High School’s David Kemp.
In 2020, Glen Rose’s Colby Steed, Cabot’s Rhett Thurman, Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy’s Tyler Loop and Dallas (Texas) Jesuit’s Ethan Lane looked good.
Had a great day today in Fayetteville! Finished 2nd in kickoffs and was also a camp champ! Thanks @CoachDaPrato and @BarryLunneyJr for a great camp! Can’t wait until next time! #WPS 🐗 pic.twitter.com/IEwHeoCJmL — Rhett (@ThurmanRhett) June 2, 2019
A couple of long snappers who impressed were Tupelo (Miss.) High School’s Hayes Hammonds and Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor’s Grant Reid, both 2020 recruits.
Had a great time at The University of Arkansas. I was awarded Top Hog and won the snapping competition. @coachchadmorris @CoachDaPrato @BarryLunneyJr pic.twitter.com/wd8rZxyFFT — Hayes Hammond (@hayesh08) June 2, 2019
