According to FootballScoop.com, Arkansas has hired Auburn director of player relations Kenny Ingram as its new defensive tackles coach.
Ingram will replace John Scott Jr. who left to coach at South Carolina. Ingram was on his second stint with Auburn. He coached the defensive tackles at Cincinnati in 2015-16.
Ingram is an Arkansas State graduate who played in high school at Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven. He was the head coach at Memphis Melrose from 2002-04. In 2005, he was the defensive line coach at Tennessee State.
Ingram joined the University of Memphis staff from 2006-09. He coached linebackers there and became defensive coordinator in 2009. He also coached the defensive line for Gus Malzahn in 2012. He then left with Malzahn to go to Auburn where he was director of player development in 2013-14.
Ingram should have extensive recruiting ties in Memphis, a city where Chad Morris has placed a strong emphasis there. He was a three-time Regional Coach of the Year and the Commercial Appeal’s 2004 Coach of the Year for Metro Memphis.
He was a four-year letterman at Arkansas State from 1989-92.
