The Arkansas Razorbacks starting pitching rotation is set for this weekend’s season opening series against Eastern Illinois at Baum Stadium.
Redshirt-Junior Isaiah Campbell will start on Friday, freshman two sport athlete Connor Noland takes the hill on Saturday and junior right hander Jacob Kostyshock will finish out the series on Sunday.
Campbell a mainstay in the weekend rotation for the Hogs in 2018 finished the season with a 5-7 record. He had a 4.26 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched striking out 75 while walking 29.
Noland finished his freshman season on the football field for the Razorbacks leading the Hogs to a win over Tulsa. Noland played in 4 games for the Hogs completing 21 of 42 passes for 255 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Noland joined the Diamond Hogs after the 2018 football season ended and made an early impression on Dave Van Horn and pitching coach Matt Hobbs. The Greenwood, Arkansas native continued to be impressive in his three appearances in the preseason to earn a spot in the weekend rotation.
Kostyshock made nine appearances out of the bullpen for the Razorbacks in 2018 pitching 14 innings ending with a 6.43 ERA. He struck out 10 and walked 8 in those relief outings.
Those three will lead a pitching staff with a talented bullpen as the Hogs host the Panthers for the three game series. Game one is slated for Friday at 3 p.m., game two Saturday at 2 p.m. and the series finale is 1 p.m. on Sunday. All games can be seen on ESPN +.
