NWA youngsters take their talent & high hopes to National Spelling Bee

Eight months ago, 11 million students had one goal, to make it to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Out of the 562 spellers that are hoping to turn their dreams into a reality, five of them are from the Natural State.

Three of them are from right here in Northwest Arkansas and are in grades from sixth to eighth.

Ahilan Eraniyan, Haas Hall Academy, Speller # 113.

Eraniyan of Bentonville said it’s been a long road.

“Well I studied the dictionary a lot, … yeah, I just look through the dictionary, picked the random words.”

Srikar Chittemsetty, Creekside Middle School, Bentonville, Ark. Speller #51.

Pavani Chittemsetty, Northwest Arkansas Classical Academy, Bentonville, Ark. Speller #38.
