If we did not have the heating from the sun we would have NO weather!

In fact the uneven heating of the earth's surfaces can help create areas of higher and lower pressure. These pressure differences create wind which then can cause ingredients to come together for many different types of weather. The strong influence on the weather has given the sun the nickname of the weather engine.
