Below normal temps to continue today and Saturday with cloud cover increasing today and persisting through much of the day Saturday.
A frontal boundary along the Gulf Coast will keep the warm sector confined well south of the region as upper wave deepens over the northern plains tonight into Saturday. Precip will expand north of the wave and envelope much of the forecast area late tonight through Saturday morning.
Precip will continue eastward and clear from west to east Saturday afternoon and end across western Arkansas Saturday evening. Instability continues to appear meager during this time frame, and the latest data is less aggressive with the overall precip amounts.
While soils remain saturated across the region, the progressive nature of the system along with the lessening precip amounts suggest any renewed flooding concerns will remain isolated at best.
Temps nearer seasonal normals return for early next week as the flow aloft is primarily composed of ridging west and troughing east.
This maintains northwesterly flow through the plains with the next possible system supporting low precip chances Tuesday and Wednesday.
