Weather Blog: Rainy Start to Thursday

Weather Talk

An upper-level low continues to move slowly northeast and was centered over northeast Texas early this morning.

Wrap-around band of light rain with a few embedded convective elements will continue to move off to the east this morning with gradual afternoon clearing from the west.

Some locally reduced visibility has been reported northwest of I-44 and while a few spots may briefly dip below 1/2 mile, do not expect widespread issues. A northern stream wave will push another weak cold front through the area later today but expected a dry passage with the area under increasing subsidence in wake of the upper low.

After a cool night under SFC high pressure, the wind will return from the south by Friday afternoon with temps reaching mid-upper 70s.

A low amplitude wave in strengthening west-northwest flow aloft will pass to the north of the area Friday night with strengthening warm advection supporting scattered elevated convection late Friday night across northern areas into Saturday morning.
